So I have decided what my new laptop will be...
I ordered my ****, here is the specs
17" MacBook Pro - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz Notebook
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz, 17" TFT, 2GB DDR2, 160GB SATA, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600, 8x Superdrive, Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T, 54-Mbps Airport Extreme, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and iSight, OS X 10.5 Leopard
Upgraded to 4 gigs ram and a bought a 250 gig firewire drive for backup, as well as "parallels" which allows me to go between osx and vista without rebooting.
Total out the door $2600 PLUS 280 in rebates, so when it's all said and done under 2500.

i have a macbook too. great little machine man. I even tune my cars on the thing.
Of course to do that I need to run windows. I use a program called "Parallels" which makes a virtual partition and network etc so you can share printers and everything as if you're on a LAN. The program is remarkable and you might want to look into it. They just released the new 3.0 version which allows you to open windows files in the Mac OS and Mac files while using the Windows OS. With the program you can also make it so the computer simply boots up with windows or with mac. (edit: woops didnt see you said you bought it, youll love it. its amazing to see windows running inside a window on the mac os)
One thing you will quickly learn to love is the trackpad, no annoying pc laptop trackpad. this one has finger recognition, to scroll a page down you just use two fingers and drag it down etc.
Best of all, there hasnt been a Mac virus created in over 5 years, whereas every year millions of new PC virii are created.
all in all i love my macbook, it also does a great job of linking all your stuff together, it has real instant recognition of devices none of that hardware setup wizard windows crap.
hardest part is learning some of the different key combo shortcuts and figuring out where the Mac equivalent of Windows things are, like the control panel etc. at first it will probably annoy you, but be patient its VERY easy to learn platform and yet so much more powerful, and expandable through plugins.

I want to get a Mac for my next desktop, it's just so bloody expensive!
You could afford it quite nicely if you'd just give up one of: a) Booze, b) gambling, or c)women!
