The problem, more often than not, is someone who has an all-wheel drive vehicle that thinks that it makes them immune to the laws of physics, and consequently don't adjust their speed to suit conditions.

Actually, thats not true. They may simply be driving at a speed appropriate for their vehicle, their ability, and the driving conditions. You may have a FWD with good tires and they may have a 70's model American shitbox with bald tires.

You don't see many people driving 5 mph slide, spin, or hit someone else.

Ok,

I understand your point. BUT, when there is NO snow on the road, there is plenty of salt on the ground, and it is not snowing, there is just no reason to be doing 5mph! I must not be the only person that thinks this way, because I saw people dodging the 5mph'ers and almost causing serious accidents. If people would just realize that because there is a snowflake and a 1/2 inch on the ground (and plowed nicely off the road) there is no reason to panic, and buy out the worlds supply of milk at the gas station

And yes, I watched a neon with an old woman on my road (backroad where going slow was needed) slide right into a stop sign. she never went over 5 mph
