Should you report mods to the insurance co?

I'd say check with your insuror if you have a lot of money in mods. Better safe than sorry.

i would say no because most likely they would raise your insurance far past what the modifications are worth. i haven't asked my insurance company yet. probably would be a good idea since i am dumping $10k in performance parts into my car :smilewinkgrin:

I would insure things like wheels that are easily stolen, but you got telling them you dumped 10G in mods they'll probably raise your rates 5G per year. Definetely would depend on insurance company, rates etc... in my book.

...but to add a few things like an alarm the insurance compay can actually lower your payment in the theft area. Most car alarms actually come with a card to fill out and send to your company for proof and liability.

i already have all discounts. i'm not gonna mention anything to insurance company but i will keep all copies of part receipts handy
