[quote name='89 Rag' date='Aug 14 2005, 07:47 PM']I have an S-10 as well, and not that i'm against it but, you would be better off putting a rotary in a mazda based pick-up, B2200 or something along those lines.

The S-10 is a little to heavy (nearly 4500lbs) the existing drive train would be overkill, and the 13B wouldn't offer enough power in a stock configuration.

Seconded. S-10 is a heavy bitch.

The older s-10's are much better suited for swaps. I've assisted with a few. One with a GN turbo v6, 3 with sbc's of various configurations and one with a 455 olds engine.

They are lighter than the new ones I believe. And you could strip quite a bit of stuff off without worring about rigidity since its a frame base, not unibody. You could make it light as hell.

BUT!! I think an older 2 door nissan hardbody would be better. They look better, and are lighter.

Supercharged 13b, 4.30/4.55 gears, and a mazda tranny. You'll be fine.

The s-10 is an 87, I still dont have my mind up. I'm thinking about just sticking a turbo on the 2.5 that is in it. I dont know yet, if i do come across a good 13b in a good car i wont have the heart to take it appart for this project, it will have to be hit in the rear pretty hard for me to tear one appart.

If you want to stick with a stock motor, get a 4.3 and fab up a pair of turbo manifolds and twin turbo it. I've always wanted to do that for some reason...
