i think i might just have to wait and see the new 7 when it comes out. i don't want to buy an 8 next june and then see the 7 come out looking a thousand times better. i can put up with the stang for another year even though its got 150k on it, and is slow as *****.. remember its only a 6cyl. i bought it almost 6 years ago my junior year in hs. now a senior in college and lookin for the next new thing. im still likin the interior of the 8.. very very smooth

well talkin about the whole thing with the FF (new rx7 chassis code?).....resting upon the FE sales...i think its major BS

only cause, theyre coming out with a new supra, have a 350z, have a g35 coupe, coming out with a GTR, coming out with a new nsx, and upgrading the s2000......grounds there prove that mazda has to get into the battle, and doing so with either the rx8 or the new rx7, they will have something

I tried driving one, it handles like hell...But the acceleration is so hondaesque. I don't like having to SCREAM to 9,000 rpms to make power..7,000 is enough.

No offense or anything, but unless they step up the displacement, N/A rotary flat out sucks in production runs.

We can only pray some version of a N/a 3 Rotor is going to be dropped into the new 7.

As far as what is better to own right now. It depends on what you are looking for. If you have lots of money to spend and want a brand new car go for it. The 8 seems really sweet plus its brand new. As far as power, if low 15 second 1/4 mile is your idea of fast then its a great car.

If you want your neck snapped either get an 8 and sing some serious cash into it. Possible a turbo kit. See the RX8 section there are pics of one in Japan. OR get a Fd for about 15K and drop another 10K into it and you'll have a neck snapping solid car. But,.. it will be a 10+ year old car and will have its problems relating to age.

I was thinking about my 87TII the other day and just about everything on the car has been replaced its like a new car. It took a lot of time and money but its not even approaching the cost of a new 8.

true. i see your point. i think that the FD is what i would really want to go with. its got the looks that i really want, and bottomline, its a pretty rare car. there will be the problems in the future, but what do you expect when you go moddin a car right ?

by the way, i was told the 8 ran a 14.5... this correct ? The 8 was a great ride, and its still a possibility, but if im gonna spend $ on a car, then i might as well save up another yr. or 2 and wait for the new 7 to come out, so i dont' go blow cash on a car im unsure about... i don't have the money for the car yet, but im hopin to by the time i get outta here.
