Ok so one of my good friends comes up to me and tells me that he wants to take his girl to prom...in a nice sports car. So I'm like good idea sounds cool. Well then he keeps talking and I figure out he's talking about my 3rd gen.



He offers me:

FMIC from his old 98 civic plus piping with GReedy BOV

98 civic OEM style carbon fiber hood

and his old stainless aftermarket cat-back exhaust from his civic.

he also was talking about giving me his old aluminum wing (but no mounting brakets...just the arms)

His truck for the night.

Signed CONTRACT saying he's liable for EVERYTHING.

Plus a full tank of gas.

Hook ups with a nissan salesman job (of course not a guarantee)



In return he asks:

Pick up his girlfriend.

take her to dinner.

goto prom.

take to condo (w/garage)

and drive home the next day.



Not extremely sure if I should do it... I mean I love my car, alright I'm obsessed about my car... I haven't even let my mom drive it.



Give your opinions... I'm wavering on the yes side. Cause I wanna do my 5 spd conversion just don't have enough money for it.. hopefully I can get atleast half of the money that is needed from the parts he's gonna give me.



Sounds like a good deal but I mean it's not just any old ordinary car.

Well...I don't honestly think they could **** in it...I mean c'mon.

He's like 6'2" and 220 lbs. and she's not a lightweight.

My girlfriend is a ballet instructor and I don't think we could even do it.

CF Hood 300+ bucks

Catback exhaust 200+ bucks



I mean that's just one paycheck away from the total amount of 1600 (what banzai wants for conv. parts).

Plus I'm pretty damn broke right now...just got laid off 2 weeks ago.

and plus I got some 18" x 8" chrome 5 spoke rims I'm trying to sell.



So if I sell the stuff I lose the automatic and gain a 5spd.



But on the other hand:

it feels like I'm selling my soul...I mean only if it's one night.

I dont get this..why the ****, is he going to GIVE YOU all that ****, for a night in your car? No offence...but I doubt your FD is worth $1000 a night to drive around....I mean, sure, we all have nice cars..but, a buddy giving up 1000 worth of parts for a ride? What the **** is he smoking? You can RENT a damn Lambo for that much.

 

He just has all of the stuff... and it's just sitting in his garage.

I known him for a long *** time and I know he doesn't care about money. Plus the prom is sat. and he doesn't really have any cash.

But I have loaned him stuff before just not my FD.

I let him borrow my 85 for a week cause his truck was in the shop...

and he ended up bringing it back to me with an oil change and a new clutch slave cylinder.

 

Its not worth it... I remeber my prom.. my friend got to take his gf's father Viper ... so yea parking lot had a lot of black marks.. the street had alot of black marks.. basically he tore **** up.



tell your friend to quick sell the **** and rent a porsche
