i have an aluminum fly wheel and a presilencer a year ago that i never got to use, but plan on using soon. i checked on their status in my garage, and there was some rust on it. what should i do? please dont tell me throw it away =(. i did get the parts for free, but i was hoping to still use em.

give them to me dont just THROW them away. They dont werk at all lol. Let me see em and ill make sure they get a good new home :bigok:

If its just surface rust, sand it off. If its deeper, get some ranex rustbuster (phosphoric acid 35%) and it will turn the rust back to metal.

rust back to metal? hummm



got any pics of your corrosion? Like said before if its surface corrosion, you can remove it to with a greeny wheenie, the little green scrubby things for dishes. If its deaper then that, remove the most you can then use possibly rust buster, never heard of it, but hey I dont know much outside of the US. First remove it, BOOK definition, nothing can stop corrosion, you can only slow it down.

hrm, when storing my crap, how do i prevent rust? it was just in my garage for a year. and bam, whole lotta rust. i dun think it got wet often, maybe some condensation and wut not, but it was relatively dry. should i vaccum pack crap?

Wipe it down with a light coating of oil, or spray it with WD-40.

Use Boeing T-9 Spray to prevent corrosion. It was designed to store aircraft parts

your aluminum flywheel has rust? i find that hard to believe, unless u are talking about aluminum oxide which a white substance that will form on bare pure Al
