i agree with lee, rear is not a big deal, plenty of room

in the front 8" is about as wide as you'd wanna go, i ran 17x8 32 with a 235/35/17 tire, it actually would have been a bit better with like a 35 or 37 offset wheel, 32 sticks out a little.

with wide wheels, you basically NEED camber plates, so you can tuck the front tires in.

i wouldnt be afraid of running a small spacer either, its an option ($430) on a new porsche 911

+40 with a 5mm slip on wont hurt.

i ran 16x8 +38 with a 5mm and it was pretty decent with stock camber.

pics above are with camberrrr

Jim- what do you mean hassle? if you get rims that fit whats the issue? is it the ride or that the rims on the car really did not fit?

now I got myself really thinking and have gone the totally opposite direction.

I was then going to get a set of Forgelines that Herblenny was selling, but that put me into the price

range of what I REALLY want.

I have been a sucker for mesh wheels my entire life, I think im just going to order BBS RS GT in diamond black tomoroww.

18x8 front, and 18x9 rear- if I can get 9" wide rear, this way I wont have to do coilovers- which I dont need or drive my car enough or hard enough to need, and I wont have to **** with the fenders either.

im thinking a 225/35/18 in the front, and 265/30/18 in the rear or a 255- if I can find matched tires that is- those sizes sound reasonable?

Pure sex IMHO, and about 20lbs

they are showing +38 as being the offset for the 8", I was thinking +30 for the rear if they sell them that way?

Rob... it looks like you keep on going more and more expensive with each post. Forgelines? then BBS? woah.

For the 2nd gen I think the most you can fit is 17x8 +25mm offset. You should be able to run a 245 tire with that. I know I can fit 16x8 +30 offset with a 245/45/16 (I might need to confirm the 45 aspect ratio, it is either 40 or 45), I can't remember.

I fully endorse Rob in getting those sick little BBS rims.

Not sure how it is like where Rob lives, but I have a set of BBS RK rims for my Subaru daily driver. This past summer (my first summer with the rims) I had 6 BBS caps stolen!

=(

Frigging ridiculous. There is also no way to permanently attaching them onto the rim. I wish I could lace them with cyanide or some other biological pathogenic virus that will activate upon contact with skin.

Doesn't work. All that happens is they keep prying with their pocket knifes and the plastic prongs on the caps break. They still walk off with the cap and leave the broken prongs floating around inside your wheel.

I even tried to machine an aluminum ring that I epoxied to the inside of the prongs. They prevents the prongs from bending in and thus not allowing the cap to be released. However the caps are just plastic and eventually the prongs just break off, you lose your bbs cap, and your wheel gets scratched because of the huge prying force.

How I wish I could replicate the security system on the 7 series BMW in golden eye. I would love to send 30,000 volts from a taser down the asswipe's arm as they try to take my BBS center caps.
