I plan on amassing all the funds I can, investing them, then live off the land. I'd like to walk from one coast to the other, or live in a national park, like bigfoot or something. Honestly. Live off the "grid", a long and quiet existence in the forest. Hollow out a tree to live in and forego material possessions. 10 years after my death i'd like to be discovered with the balance of my portfolio by a pack of cub scouts and become a legend.

i dont know about the rest of you, but im not going to go quietly, i want to make my own way in the world sure, but God will have to come down himself and tell me its time to go and then drag me away.

i hate having nothing to do, so i think i would likely end up like my grandfather and build a shop behind my house and work on things like cars and carpentry stuff and in general anything to keep my busy.

im lazy but i cant stand not having anything to do for too long....

unless i had a million bucks, then i would do absolutely nothing

just to be around long enough to enjoy and be available for the grandkids..

no plans for retirement... everything and anything youd ever want to do should be done now..

not wait until old age...

I agree 100%. Do the things you want to do now!!!. Though I would like to retire @ 60. Sell off everything, buy one of those pimp million dollar RV's and just travel the country.

If I stay an employee of the state, I can reture at 48, and hopefully I'll still be in good health. I'll probably get a part-time job that I don't really care about, and expand my hobbies. I like fishing, scuba diving, and working on the car; so if I still enjoy these things in 30 years I'll still be doing them. I've always wanted an RV, just to do the occasional vacation. I don't really have any desire to travel the world, I've always felt that I'd like to see all of the US before trying my hand at exchange rates and screwing up a foreign language. I'd like to eventually invest in some land. We started off with a head start (house already paid for, government job at 18, parents at 19, etc.), so I hope that I can be smart about money and live comfortably.

Hoping to retire before 50 and split my time between Jamie's Slow-*** Restorations, and my house in Italy.

Yeah, that's where I am. I'd love to open a customizing/restoration facility and enjoy the summer nights at my villa in Monaco.

Yep. I have to save money not for me but for my kids/grandkids since I'll die in a high speed accident of some sort

Retirement what's that?

I'll probably wind up like my grandfather and never really retire. Acutally I take that back I'm lazy enough to retire but God only knows what I'd do. Travel around, who knows? Depends on what the next 10 years do I suppose.

I could never do Phinsup's idea. I don't swim well and I WOULD get hit by the first suprise tropical storm/hurricane since radar was invented.

UniqueTII and I will probably loose it and open up an RX-7 shop then die in some huge explosion.
