I don't think it's even possible (assuming you didn't care that you would get your *** handed to you in the HP department) to race a rotary in F1. Don't they have to be a V10? Anyone out there know the engine rules for F1?

Right now its a 3 litre V-10. Possible rule change to drop it to V-8 in a couple of years but that rule change is getting some complaints from BMW.
F-1 cars are in the 900 HP range right now. F-1 wants to drop the HP ratings down to the 700 range and slow the cars down somewhat. There are concers on 2 fronts. One is cost reduction its getting too expensive to campaign a car. The other is safety its just a matter of time before there is another fatality and F-1 doesnt want to get blamed for not addressing safety concerns.
