I think the floorboards were originally aluminum like the rest of the boat. What he used is some sort of honeycomb type material, maybe even fiberglass, I don't know. They are riveted down and sealed. The floor boards aren't diamond plated damn it LOL the Fish box, the bow compartment and the aft seating are all diamond plated, basically everything topside, but the floorboards. Keep in mind its only a 16 foot fishing boat, it's not the 44 foot sailboat in my dreams, but that is really the beauty of boating isn't it? The kid on his home made raft, the guy in his rubber dingy all the way up to the ****** on his 65 yacht are having a great a time and breathing the sea air.
