It's not entirely the same, what you use over there I think is called CLC octane, and this takes an average of RON and another test standard called MON - this is a much better way of doing it because there's far less scope for variances. 100 RON is roughly 96 octane and 110 RON is about 105 octane.

yeah our pump gas octane is right in between the mon and ron ratings of it.

I actually had a book right in front of me which explains all this. Interesting stuff. What I want to know is why your race fuel is measured in RON when it's less accurate?
