Because you obvisouly would talk about any conspiracy you are involved in, so if you were to be involved in one you are a "loose end" that would need to be tied up

Doesn't matter, you have drawn attention to yourself and "them". You are a weak link, if you truly knew anything they would have kicked you door in, interogated you and eventually disappeared you.
