anyone ever used either of these? I'm trying to use a webportal system for my website, but my crappy host doesnt offer apache, only mysq;. I cant really afford a new host so if i was too boot up apache on my pc could i use that apache install combined with the mysql on the host? IE everything but apache on the host, and just point it at my apache?

Yea I run it on this server, you can install it with the click of a button

If you don't have mysql you are pretty much screwed in this day and age.... back to work.

you can use a remote mysql server, but if they aren't on the same switch you might as well take up smoking or something so you can keep busy while pages load.
