And people ask me why I love Seattle

it's quite possible other states have a similar law on the books I really don't know, I do know for a fact that washington has it and actively persues it, very actively if the birth father doesn't pay his child support.
The state also has specific laws regarding unwed mothers that others dont, i dont know the specifics, but there are several laws regarding eviction and rental to unwed mothers.

Washington's great, Seattle sucks though. But I try and stay away from the cities as much as possible. Hell, I try to stay away from people as much as possible these days. I love the winters around here, but the short days and long nights can definitely have an effect on you. Washington is definitely not a state for smokers. As of last fall it is illegal to smoke in any public places, no bars, restaraunts. You also have to be 25 feet from any entrance. And if you ever watch cops and they're in WA, they are always in Lakewood which is pretty much Tacoma.

I'll say I have a good time whenever I'm in Seattle. I don't mind the rain much, I didn't really notice the traffic. But then I don't live there. All in all I like the area and would like to get up there more.
