what he was going thru. I only modified the part of the boat, I didnt

see what he was mounting there

so if i give my idea to a company and have it documented like with certified mail or something and they use it they would have to pay me money?

You need money, lots of it, and if you had it, you probably wouldn't be interested in a patent.
