Actually they cannot open their mouths well all their muscles for for biting down. So you can basically hold their mouth shut with your hands. Getting them to sit still long enough to do this in another story. If you throw a blanket over their heads they will mellow out. Thats why its eyes are taped over.
I would not go with in 100 yards of that monster. BTW - Thats about as big as they come. I saw a 15 footer in person in the swamps once and that was scary this would make me loose control of my bowels.

From what I've heard of all personal experiences, those things are solid muscle.
