Southwest VA got some rain and a little bit of wind. Had some friends come up and stay that live on Hatteras Island. They had talked to someone today who was already back down there and they said there were several new ravines across the island, a few houses down and several businesses blown away including a hotel.

We got hit hard here.

I lost lots of tress. Neighnors lost part of their house and a Durango.

I just got power back. It was out for the last 16 hours. Me and teh family are ok and most importantly my car is still parked safetly at my folks garage.

My ******* property is a mess though. I was cutting trees with my chainsaw all day long. My ears are still ringing. Im just happy have power back. My fridge totally died so I don;t have any food. And I couyldnt shower so Im starting to smell like a million.

Glad your OK down there Dave. That pic of your house with the trees around it looked like it could be trouble.

We got some strong wind, but our house id OK. Neighbor lost half of his siding. I looked out in my front yard this morning and freaked out - I thought it was was mine. Power flickered on and off several times but we never lost it. All in all it was not too bad, but the house did make some erie whistling and creaking sounds in the wind.

We got slammed new kent VA...we lost 42 huge trees in our yard alone won't have power or about another week of so ...the house was not hit though...but an estimated 20K to clean up all the trees.
