It happened............. I don't know how, but it did!
Actually i do know! It's that damned soulassassin RX-7 that i saw, and the motor i found on parts trader! I am in desperate love with the J-bridge port! I must have one. I must have IT. Does anyone have one for me please! By Golly i'd sure love to have one.
Oh yeah I am doing a NA to Turbo swap i think. If you guys tell me whether or not i really need the tranny and drive train right away. Please respond......... i need to and rack up some more tickets. I mean i am getting my points back soon and i have to do something with them so PLEASE support the " MAKE COOPER'S CAR UNSLOW" FUND. You will truly be appretiated.

I have a 13B Jport with 55mm Haltech Throttle Bodies and internal racing seals etc.
I just run a Series 1 Rx7 Gearbox and Standard Rx3 Diff, it works fine. Rx5 Gearbox's are supposedly the best for a ported motor along with a Ford 9 inch Diff
I think Turbo Motors require real good gearbox's such as series 4, 5, 6 or 7 Rx7 greabox's, Whereas a port can have something slightly less. Toyota Corona and Supra Gearboxes are always good too.
I have to drive the car in third gear at 60Kmh/36Mph
Ports Sound Wild.

Hi all. Hey rotormotor there's nothing wrong an obsession like that. I think every one here hasa rotor obsession in one way or another. As the other guys said, those mods will probably need an upgrade further down the drivetrain. As spinz said a ford 9 inch is a good start and over the toyota commercial range of diffs are also popular. [Hiace and Hilux]
Nothing wrong with Mazda's gearbox, just from personal experience I wouldn't go over about 25% over standard HP before looking to upgrade. Late Rx-7 boxes are a good option. Just remember the brakes! No point having 300+HP if you can't stop.

my question is. Can't i just bolt The TII motor up to the NA tranny. I mean what is the big difference? they are the same years and gen why cant this be done? If its the HP then what does it matter? i mean i have seen NA's with a lot of HP. What makes the TII tranny so much better? and what about the drive shaft weren't they the same length?
And as for the TII swap why is it so difficult?
-More questions. do the RX-5 and or RX-3 gearbox's bolt
right up? How about the third gen tranny could i bolt that up or would i need a full third gen rear end? and would that fit easily or require modification?
- could i keep the NA drive train for a while till i was able to swap?
Please help i need to find out mre info.
