damn phins. i'm not a mechanic. i don't different brand's of radio's, meters, gauges, gps's.. every aircraft our club owns and ones that i have flown have had hobb meters.

i ASSUMED that you'd understand what i meant when i said it was 70 an hour, and you only paid while the aircraft was running.

if it's such a bad thing to take an airplane over a train, or a car.. then do your thing. i can save money and have a shitload more fun by air.

I was merely trying to outline some costs, I never said taking a plane was stupid, was just trying to come up with a comparitable figure. Because of your inability to absorb any information in my posts you assumed i was trying to mock or point out stupidity.

My point with the "hobbs" being a brand is that you are trying to be a smartass and act like you've got some amazing knowledge that i don't possess or that you are so intellectually superior that you have "dumb" things down for me. If you are gonna be a smart ***, try and make statements that are just that......smart

NExt you'll be telling us all about the planes Motor that drives the propellar

It's called a pratt and whitney, its just like your car or boat it needs a "motor" to move it. Your car has an "engine" well airplanes have "pratt and whitney's"

a ******* hobbs meter is a ******* hobbs meter. i have been flying on and off for 8 years and i have never heard differently.

i just asked one of our old time instructors here at work. he said that hobbs is a brand, and duh, it is an hour meter... but said everyone refers to them as hobbs meters.. you can call it what you want and could have joe smoes hour meter in your plane, but it will still be referred to as a hobbs meter.

general aviation knowledge.

i'm not trying to "wow" anyone by saying anything i said. it's common knowledge. i was just trying to prove that you could in fact save money flying, and yes, you can fly over the city.. and prove it was practical.. im sorry if an hour or "hobbs" meter threw you off.

i thought the easiest way to explain the cost was that you pay for the time you fly.

that normally takes only a few minutes. if i went that far into detail, i think phins would **** a brick.

i did mention though that it might add 5-10 minutes.

To go more into more detail, you pay for hobbs time in tenths.
