I don't mean to probe, so you can just ignore me if you want - but you're only 19 correct? So when, and how long did this previous lifestyle exist?
so about 5.5-6 years is how long it lasted.
during that time i always had cash. first car i bought with all my own money, $5k cash downpayment, then two $5500 cash payments for a 98 wrangler. i then sold that and got a 99 durango with cash.
along with furnishing my room, my friends room, whichever girl i was with's room, and buying my family nice gifts whenever i was bored. I bought myself and friends trips to places and told my parents my friend's parent had paid for them, etc etc. I ALMOST bought my most recent girlfriend a car but decided it was too early, so i wound up paying to hook her car up a bit.
the lifestyle ended a couple months ago when i went in to the hospital and came out with a whole new outlook on life. I still have a lot of money leftover from who i used to be, all in cash form tho, but i have to save it to pay for my lawyers and now basically its the money i am using to try to make myself better. The dorky way i look at it is that god let me live it up for the beginning of my life and now hes just kicking my ***, but i guess all's fair in the end eh?
edit: and before you think i simply sold drugs to buy me cool things, i also donated money to any fund raising thing that would occur at my high school. This thing called spirit week we had, each class would have a food drive and whoever got the most food won, and no matter what the homeless people got tons of food. My senior year i spent probably close to $5,000 on food for that food drive.

My life now stands solidly on a platform of middle-class, white, pseudo-suburbia... my mind can't even imagine how people can pull off stuff like that. It's good that your outlook changed and you changed before something horrendous happened to you. At least you'll always have these memories / experiences to base your future and its decisions off of.

we all have to live and learn
next time you think someone older then you is
being "old" when he tells you something maybe you should
listen to what they are saying.
You play and your going to pay, no matter how smart you think
you are!
