Well, having spent a good amount of time in mexico and certainly a great portion of my youth I can tell that what you think are buying and what you are buying are two totally different things and that goes for ANYTHING in mexico.
Leather goods = cardboard
sunglasses= knockoffs
drugs = aspirin
The odds of a gringo walking down the street and getting his hands on anything besides aspirin is pretty slim, they might mix in some rat poison for you so you get sick and tell all your buddies how fucked up you got on the mex drugs.

think of it this way. im white, but i basically run a block in paterson, which consists of mostly non-white people (dont feel like describing them all), so im not stupid i know how to get what i need when im not somewher eim supposed to be.
watch blow, he was a gringo who got on the coke king's good side
it's all about who you know and what you do to get to know them better.
i dont think ive ever gotten aspirin, i was ripped off in a drug deal once, said person stopped selling drugs about 10 minutes after we found him.
but that was the old me, ive reformed and live a clean life.
