I have a Mac and I used to really hate PCs, but my new job has me on a nice PC running NT 4.0 and I've now embraced the virtues of the PC. I still think Macs are far superior, though. They are faster than most PCs because they process data differently. The Macs used to be a LOT faster, but PC chip manufacturers have made some headway towards closing the gap. The thing is...the G5 is coming soon and it's just gonna dwarf everything else. When you bring everything equal, the G4 is still faster and, on top of that, Mac OSX is more stable than Windows.

Get a Mac...you won't be sorry.

i don't know if this is still the case... but 3-4 years ago when i was shopping around for laptops i made damn sure that hte laptop i was buying was turned on right before my eyes adn that, that was the one i was buying... the one i was looking at.

The reason being that when they first started using those LCD screens they were extremely hard to make. And sometimes u will have a dead pixel. Back then it was quite common. And if u got a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen it would be the most annoying thing in the world.

Does anyone still inspect their laptop screens before making payment?

if i was paying i'd get a toshiba notebook. Dell is blah... the keyboards on them suck... i've used two of them from my company and the keyboards never work right and the screens aren't that great either.
I much agree with you on the dell laptops. Their keyboards blow - after (less than) a year or so, they keys would stick and not work as it used too.

Even if it's your money though, i'd consider a G3 laptop, and if they've came out with the G4s (haven't been up-to-date lately with the laptops....) I'd get it.

I'd also recommand the toshiba Satellite. Good cpu. I'm using one right now as a matter of fact. Out of the three I've used from various folks - I haven't had much of a problem yet....

Then again, I rarely like Windows, so that should tell you something ( Meaning, it's been a gerat proccessor caring a winblows OS.... and has done wonders with me using it). [/quote]

did you hack on those comps too?

and jon...the computer brand is P3 Direct...model 1120....its not a famous brand, but this is the best laptop ive ever used

They were talking about those computers on CNET. They said they were good desktop replacements for the money. I only had a problem with battery life on those...

and you're stupid. Maybe if you guys read my other post...

"we changed it all back just having a little fun."

But I guess, assuming I'm female, if we do anything "like you males do" we get flamed for it.

I've seen worser **** done and posted here, and all you guys do is "laugh".. but yet you're a hypocrite when a female does it.

If you need to judge me by one little thing , that everyone else judges me by, then **** you. A few people on this forum knows me personally, and knows who I am, and who I am not, by the way you people point me out to be... .so really, get off your high ego horse, and don't be such a hypocrite and ****.. towards someone you don't know until you really get to know them.

I know alot of folks on here act like asses, just to be cool online -but they say "in person" they're nice as can be - but you still encourage them - what is the difference? NONE.
