Nice looking car! I still get a kick out of the stock stereo set-up crammed in the center console, looking like some insturmentation from the cockpit of an airplane.



Looks like a great car, whatever you choose to do with it, enjoy!

yeah ive never seen that stereo, i thought 89 was the first year with cd.

I would have to guess that it's a cut pile rendition of the stock molded original, maybe?

maybe a coupe front kit?

I had someone tell me the front part of a coupe carpet would not fit in a vert

The floor pans are identical from the firewall to the point where the storage bins would begin, in a coupe version. I was told that no one picked up the ball once Mazda stopped making molded carpet kits for 2nd gens, leaving me to buy a cut pile copy. If in fact there is a molded replacement available, I would certainly be interested.

thats right, the vert has a longer carpet, you would have to seam it behind the seats if you used a coupe's carpet



by front panel, I meant the front half of the carpet, because coupes you can buy it in 2 pieces obviously because of the hatch area
