first off your uncle is a jackass, second that's not fair of him to ask you to pay if he didn't say anything first... i'd tell him to **** himself and that you moving his **** was all the payment he should expect
Yup!

**** that! It's family! If you wanted payment you tell them up front!

It's only fair! You can't do it to a stranger?? Why a family member!

It's one of those things, if you offered, and he refused! It'd be cool!

I might offer the bills, but not the rent!

**** That!

Sucks how family can be so Ghey!!

is he taller? i would see how much he owes you and how much you owe him, and see what the difference is

Ha...I think I'm taller.

He says I owe him $300 for the rent, about $260 for utilities (need to see a bill on that one...my utilities now are about $25-35/month), and $90 for the carpet cleaning (which he should pay for, because it's part of the lease.)

He doesn't owe me rent yet as long as he tells the landlord that the security deposit is my money, but I think if he's charging me to live in his old apartment, I should charge him for moving his stuff. How much would it cost to have an entire 2 bedroom apartment moved (nothing was packed or anything else) and cleaned (windows and stuff that he would have to clean whether I lived there or not)?

Yeah. If he's paying rent to you for storing his stuff, maybe you can work it so you don't have to actually pay him anything. How long is he going to keep his stuff at your place? In a few months, he'll be owing you money. Then you can tell him to get his stuff out of your place or pay up!

He's in a squeeze for a few hundred bucks. Sounds like he's trying to swindle you. I wouldn't give him ****. But if family is important to you... Give him utilities. Nothing else. At least those he could have had power over..

The utilities on the new place are in my name, so it's not like he could get me shut off, but I'd still offer to pay the ones for while I lived in his place.

I am pretty sure he's trying to weasel his way out of paying me for as long as possible...he doesn't really work, he just lives off of his new wife and random computer work.

Give him his money and tell him he has a day to get his **** out of there because his security deposit money used towards keeping his junk in your place has ran out.

He obviously needs the money bad.

I like the silent treatment myself and not letting someone like that think I give a **** about any of it.

Lessons learned in life- people get fucked up when it comes to money, family or not.
