would you be willing to buy an ecu? you could just bolt on a turbo but you gotta do something for fuel/timing.

No kit. But turbo kits cost around $3000. Why not just get a TII?

Nobody makes turbo kits for NA's because everybody wants one for like $1000. There used to be kits for $3-4K. The minimum PROFITABLE kit would have to be near $2000.

Just trying to prove a point. If you can't afford a TII...you can't afford a turbo kit for an n/a.

UNLESS you WANT to try it....which in this case means one of two things:

1) Lots of time

2) Lots of money

3) A little bit of both

it would be about 3k if you did it halfway right.

1000 turbo

500 manifold

1200 haltech

300 to make the math work for me

the problem is not being able to afford a TII or not for most people, like me, I have seen to date 1, count them, 1 TII in person, EVER. as in, my entire 20 years of life, and when I asked how much he would sell it for, his answer was something along the lines of "you can have this car, when you pry the keys from my cold dead fingers"

Fact of the matter is you can buy a N/A in much better condition then most TII, cheaper and definitly more available. I was talking this over with Jim, he was telling me of a TII for sale for something like $5000 with a bad motor, but the car itself is mint, now I like these cars, buy ******* $5000 for one with a bad motor? I think not. Unless you find Joe Clueless selling a TII for cheap, the fact of the matter is that even shitty ones are asking way too much money for them.
