I've been buying their oil and diesel filters for years, wix makes them and they are damn good filters. I used to pay $8.99, now they are $16.99 each, I bitched so the guy lowered the price to $15.75, but when I got home I got to looking on the internet and found them for $8.15 each, so NAPA has priced themselves out of my budget.

lol all of the parts stores are like that. the shop i used to work in had accounts with carquest, napa, and o'reilly's so we'd get the parts at cost. they also show on their sites what the list is and the % markup. most were market up only about 50% but i saw a gasket at 90% once.

I buy most of my filters when NAPA has their 50% off sale once a year. Pre-planning is your friend

LOL that sucks but then again i buy most parts online. It is a bigger market to be an online retailer simple fact is if you have the lower price you get bought from. Then again you have shipping charges to buy online but most of the time its still cheaper than buying at the parts store. I bought a rear motor mount for my integra for $40 shipped on ebay and it is $74 at advance and its the same brand LOL.

I prefer to buy everything from small local retailers, I get better service and if there's an issue there's someone who gives a **** to help me out, but not when I can buy the same thing for 50% of the local guy... at that point he's just taking advantage of me.
