you can also add a restictor to the intake rather than having to redo the exhaust. that's how SAE limits the power potential in our Formula SAE cars.

We run a 500 lb car with a 600 cc yamaha yzf engine and use a 20mm dia restrictor. it limits it to like 75 hp.

Dude, I used to drive those back in the 6th grade as part of a sponsorship by Michael Schumacher. He used to sponsor schools with carts so we could race. I was one of the drivers for my school and also had a co-driver. It was like league basketball and flag football just with go-carts and a nice tracks. Our city was one of the VERY FEW that received the sponsorship to introduce younger kids into racing and I just had to join in.

We had a pit crew and everything. The races were held in parking lots in the open, sometimes in parking garages over a 2 floor level and the final race of the "season" was held at The Ring.

The money was only for one season, and although my school didn't win, we got 3rd overall. When I left for the states, I received my helmet as a gift by the school (had my name on it and all) and my class mates, unfortunatly, the cops took it in Frankfurt and told me that I'd get it back in NYC when I landed. I never got it back though, I miss that thing.

Wow, I wish my dad was into cars and racing. As it stands now, I know more about cars than he does (and I don't know all that much).
