HA HA awesome! You sure the HD isn't dead? You can try something besides the restore disk to format, ie drive manufacturers utility which you should be able to download from their website.
Here's the BEST solution: http://www.apple.com/mac/

And that's saying a lot because I am continually insightful and brilliantly dazzling with both intellect and bullshit.

They don't make hard drives like they used to. Ten years ago, they would last until you ran out of space, or the computer it was installed in would become obsolete. Nowadays, they're likely to be the first part of your computer to crap out.

Haha Kevin. Reacharounds
Sep you should get a new hard drive and run it as a new primary, install windows and crap, then put the old bad one in as a secondary drive and see what data you can salvage off it
as long as your running copy of windows isnt on that bad hard drive then you shouldnt pick up any garbage that its infected with.. just filter the files you want to keep with a scanner
but the hd is probably dead. 88RedTII is right cause that **** happens to me all the time. my computer is an old office worker computer that got liquidated to an electronics store and into my hands for 200 bucks. first thing i had to do was ditch the hard drive.

Because you buy junk Pc's and junk hardware that's why **** breaks, HP, Dell, Gateway, Sony all use the cheapest ******* hardware they can get their hands on. Last HP I bought, the day I ordered it from HP I ordered a GOOD hard drive, Seagate, 5 year warranty, yadda, yadda (keep in mind not ALL Seagates are good you need to pay attention to the model). 5 years never had one issue. Then people bitch cause a mac is so expensive, the reason for that is they don't use junk hardware, hell half of dells "new" computers use refurbed parts.
