right, water (unless it is 100% distilled) has minerals (iron sodium etc) in it. Go to an old house and look at the shower head, that discoloring and cruddyness is called mineral deposits. This happens when water dries it leaves the minerals behind.

water still evaporates like normal, but when it evaporates, its leaves the minerals behind...hence the white spots...the filter just takes out those minerals

Anyways, I've heard good reviews on that car wash "system," and I'd use it if I actually washed my car more than once a year.
