they dont have volume ***** in canada?
It's just the low frequency sound, the voices are actually recorded slightly quieter than on some other movies. So it would require knowing in advance that when buddy sticks the machine gun through the hole in the wall and opens up that it is going to be particularily loud on this specific movie. I had already spent quite a lot of time adjusting the level of the sub amp to match and sound good when playing music and other movies.
And it's not actually that loud, since it is apparently recorded at a frequency near the lower level that the human ear can hear, it's largely vibration. The extremely low frequencies use very long travels of the sub driver and radiator. With it also being machine guns and explosions, the sound is much more violent, rapid and lower frequency than the bass in music, so more likely to cause damage by the looks of it.
The glue seam between the spider and pole piece on this sub doesn't look nearly as sturdy as the one from my 14 year old car subwoofer though, they could have made it a lot stronger for pretty cheap.
