I'm curious to get peoples thoughts, experiences and knowledge about the physical metallurgical limits of a mazda rotary engine.

I got a nice cheap series 2 RX7 i got the other week. Its my third car, so it's not my daily driver nor my weekend racer, but my evil experiment. Was thinking of performing some inhuman torture on the beast. I have a 600hp rated hollinger 6-speed i'm not using, so I was thinking of dumping that in with a turbo or two and then proceeding to boost the factory ported engine untill it breaks .... muhahaha! (i bet it would probably chew the diff long before the engine fails am i right?)

Ok I know lots of you guys will run 30-35psi+ with out much problem but how much further can you go? and what shot of NOx on top of that?

I've done some research understand the major problems is that that rotor housings can actually deform outward away from the rotor. and that the face of the rotor itself can deform. i always hear of seals failing or cracks forming and that is what stops a rotary dead... but is it actually even possible to blow a rotary in the same style as a piston engine?

anything is possible as far as say throwing a rotory out of the motor in the same way you could throw out a piston. I mean it can only take so much before its like a bomb.

i dont belive you can make a rotor jump out of the block, but im sure you can split the housings, waht kind of fuel supply do you plkan on using with 35+psi

I don't know I've seen guys run 3rd gen's with modified "scatter shields"

so the possibility of **** breakin' free is always there. I think it's more a fear of the flywheel breaking out. If your just gonna boost this till it blows grab a 120 shot for it! Live on the edge!!PS Where are you?? Cause I want to see this!!
