Auto Magic was all i used when i was detailing.. degreasers worked well on everything, engines, bad floormats, stains. no need to buy 50 different cleaners all the time.. the product was great, affordable, and i got a discount using it.



i made a ton of money in the summers working out of my parents garage when i was in college. about as much as i making now working full time with a degree.. only difference is that i have benefits/vacation/sick time.. can't beat it.. im on salary now and they are really generous with the overtime... plus its a lot less stress.

 

the detailer that I go to for advice uses all auto magic products. She swears by them... I might go over to them when I use up the stuff I have...

 

if your going to try to make money detailing you have to stop with that

over the counter crap, the only thing I used to get that was sold OTC was wax itself, all wheel cleaners, degreasers, polishes, compounds, etc.. you get from a detail or body shop supply.

oh yeah... too expensive.... I'm just using this stuff cause its easy to get, and I need the practice...

 

UPDATE:



I have started detailing for pay. I did my first job today, 75 bucks for an exterior only detail. Owner was EXTREMELY pleased. My camera was dead, so I don't have any before/afters, but even I was impressed. It was a 94 Ford f-150 medium blue single cab... paint had no major flaws, just swirled and oxidised...



I have a second f150 that I'm going to do that is going to be a tough job. It has overspray from where it was parked next to a building being painted via spray guns... little white speckles all over every surface of the truck... I'm going to attempt to remove it with clay, but I think I'm going to have to use a solvent... i'm going to do a full compound/buff/polish when I get it off, so I'm not worried about a lil marring to get the stuff off... I think I'm going to charge tis guy 150 for an inside outside detail, the interior isn't bad at all.. this one is a 95 f-150 single cab, also blue (odd that I get 2 of the same trucks in my first few details) it only has 75k on it....

Don't use solvent, odds are it was latex overspray, try like hell to get it all off with clay, then go to your cutting pad and light to medium duty cleaners.

yeah clay actually works better than i would have thought for that. solvent for the really stubborn spots

yeah its latex. I picked up a block of heavy duty clay from a body shop.. if that doesn't get it, Ik'll use some bio degradeable solvent and get it off of the obvious places... other than that, he'll just have to live with it..



its hardly noticeable now untill you get up close...
