I use zymol interior carpet shampoo, make up a bucket with the shampoo, water and a wash mitt, then wring the mitt out and scrub the interior from the headliner down. Compressed air, shop vac and extractor are all useful tools in getting the job done right, afterword the plastics can be dressed, and the seats and carpet can be treated/protected.

 

I take pretty good care of my cars, but they definitely more often look like the "before" pics than the "after" pics.

I had a garbage bag full of TRASH in it at one point. With like banana peels and wendy's bags...

How do u clean the under carrage? How do u wash the engine bay? I don't know how to do these two things effectively.

High jack stands (with the help of 4"x 4"s for extra height, if you have no car rack, I don't either) commercial or industrial grade de-greaser, pressure washer or steam cleaner, crummy wash mitt, stiff bristled tire brush. Wet the surface down, drench with de-greaser, put your rain gear on, climb onto the creeper then wash, mitt and brush the crap out of it, it might take a few times to get all of it.



The engine bay is a little more delicate (assuming the engine is installed) make sure to mask off anything which is not water friendly (intake and electrical system components mostly) and keep the pressure washer away from finned components (radiator, intercooler etc.) the process is about the same as the undercarriage, let the chemies do the work, pressure wash then mitt, tire brush, and toothbrush the grime away, rinse and repeat.



Edit: if this is done in a residential area there may be some grief involved if some enviornmentally concoius neighbors, or members of an enviornmental protection agency happen to see this taking place, some parts of the world are worse than others, just a heads up...

Naw man, Im talking about soap, high grade soap or detergents



like this one...



I use dyna-might, but it is caustic to a certain extent, but it is what I am used to.
