Comprable home prices from WA. to FL.? I suppose you won't be going the condo route again.

Let your dad upsell Amy all he want's, just tell him he has to make up the difference + interest!

House prices in WA are rediculous. We're looking in the $150,000 to $175,000 range, would like to get a place with a pool, but I think that is going to be down the road, **** we found a perfect place on a corner lot for $140,000 but it was sold. Going out tomorrow it will just depend on what we find, we want 3 bedrooms, min and a 2 car garage, other then that I could care less. I need a computer room, a spare room for family visits and what not and we'll use the main room for pool table, tv, bar etc....

We pre-scouted a few, found the area we like, just need to find the house we want now.

My Dad offered me $40,000 for a downpayment, it would be nice but I dunno if I can take that, that's a good wad of cash.

as for the price increase- keep in mind the price of

lumber and steel has gone way up. A friend of mine that does

commercial construction had to rebid on jobs he bidded

on 6 months ago because of how much materials has gone up

There isn't any lumber in houses here, but yea prices have gone up, but they haven't effected existing homes, so we aren't even looking at new places at this point. There's plenty of houses here that are 2 years old and never been lived in.

Well they haven't exactly fell through, it's just that we the house was $174,000 when we put the deposit down, now they want raised their prices to $194,000 and they still haven't given us the price, it wil be another month before a price can be given to us. So one can guess it's going to be closer to the $200,000 mark by the time it happens, which is WAY out of what I want to pay.

We want a nice house, but I don't want to be strapped to a house payment and beaten with it, I want to be able to easliy make the payment on one of our incomes and still be able to afford to eat. When we're both working, bonus, but we were set up here in washington to only have one of us working and it's a much better feeling.
