The rx-7 FC and FD both have motors which a clearly mounted behnd the front axle, which in my terms classifies these as mid engine cars.... some friends of mine dont agree, can anybody help me out and let me know what u think?

well i know that an fc has close to 50/50 weight distribution and its tru that the engine is behind the front axel,,,hmm i never heard anybody say it was a mid-engine car,,since theres no such thing as haven an engine placed in the middle of a car i would think that by haven a mid-engine car like an mr2 or a boxter or something you would have to have the engine in the back,,and thats what people mean by a mid-engine car and since my engine isnt in my hatch i would go out and say i have a mid-engine rx-7

the fc and fd are mid-front engined cars.

the fiero and mr2 are mid-rear engined cars.

many people don't differentiate a front engine from mid-front engine, but it's a significant difference technically speaking.
