and thats all it needs to be. making it rwd would cost ALOT more money, which in turn defeats the whole purpose of the car. not every car produced by a manufacturer needs to be a RWD beast/powerhouse.

no it wouldnt, they already have in in a volvo, thats where the 6 speed comes from....

mazda 3 = volvo s70? = european focus.....



the volvo has the 6 speed awd, the mazda has the turbo...

I would buy one of these IF it was AWD, but because it's not I would end up with 2 cars I can't winter drive. They should make a Canadian Spec MS3 with AWD.

Yeah, maintenace costs on a Volvo isn't really something I am willing to put up with, but I might buy a MS6 when it is out of warrenty, the WRX is an other option, AWD is must around here, and might aswell have a turbo one.

I would think if you wanted something to drive in the winter in the frozen north, you would punt cars altogether and buy a 4x4 Chevy truck. It's hard to drive a car in a foot of snow when your bumper is 6 inches off the ground, AWD or not.
