so, i drove by the mazda dealer on the way to work out, to see if they had any new RX-8's (and they did). while i was there scoping it out, chatting with a dealer, he was saying that Mazda was working on a Mazdaspeed version of the 6. supposedly they were working on turbocharging the I4 and beefing up the suspension. well, i did some more research on it, and they are also working on AWD. I searched the forums and didn't see much on this, so i hope this isn't a repeat. WOW! Mazda continues to impress me. I hope this is true.

Also, the new Mazda 3 looks good. i doubt its a replacement for the protege, but i do think i looks better.

 

Looks sweet. I was wondering if they would be entering the WRX/EVO market.

 

If they go AWD I'd get one. That'd be one heck of a sleeper that'd shame Rustangs everywhere.

and i was also thinking about it. if they push the 6 up to 280 hp, they HAVE TO increase power in the 8, just a matter of time. you can't have a family sedan producing more power than your premeir sports car, that just doesn't happen

hmmmm...... 280 on their sadan, means way more than that for their sports car..... cant wait to see the numbers for the mazdaspeed 8

 

yeah, my mom got a V6 auto, really nice car. my uncle has a '02 passat, and i think the 6's interior is just as nice, and it is much more powerful.



i got to drive his passat; it handled great, but the power was lacking. going 70 i'd downshift into 4th and didn't get that much more power, nothing threw me back in the seat.



then i let him drive my 7, yeah, so much better. it might not be as smooth, quiet, or refined, but dang, it handles just as well and knocks your ***** to the rear compartments when dropping into 2nd at 40 mph! (so that's what those compartments are really for ). i think he was a tad bit jealous of my power, er, of my wankle, lol. i love my TII, i'm hooked power, this car has spoiled me.



anyway, the 6 is a great car at a great price. good handling, great torque and power, and VERY roomy. the seats are also quite supportive. if i wasn't such a rotor-head, i'd get one next year when i graduate from A&M.

 

Well I guess they figured out which car to make...The dealer told me they were still debating on if they were going to make an MS Mazda6 or a MS Miata. I was kinda hoping for the miata

 

the dealer said they will make a MPS Miata with a 200 hp engine, i presume he was referring to the one that will be built on the rx-8's platform
