Wow, mustang motors last forever! So does my toyota tecels motor!

I guess that means Tercel > FD!

It all boils down to the TOTAL package for me. Looks, speed, handling, finish, quality, etc.

The FD's ONLY crutch is the finicky'ness. The looks can be manipulated to fit user needs, the lack of torque is made up by quicker/higher rev'ing motors. IRS, Engine Placement, Weight distribution, all contributing to superior handling over a 1/4 Mile domestic.

the mustang seems like it has a pretty solid rating to me..

i know the feeling though... it does suck when the problem you have is expensive to fix, and you have re-occuring problems over and over.. sometimes you just get lemons....

btw... what were the ratings for a (1995) camaro, rx-7, 300zx, supra, prelude, a4, jetta and gti ????

Yep, not necessarily a hater, just a "I'm-not-amused-by-cookie-cutter-design-american-quality-too-common-blah-inspiring" type of person.

I see one ( or 50 ) everyday, there's nothing special or great about them. They are great for what they are, they're "Genre" so to say, but even if they are the Cobra limited edition super special Expresso making machine...I'd still rather drive something else.

Live and let live. I just think the comparison between the two is silly when you are comparing an interior and how long an engine lasts on what-should-be, a "Performance" comparison of 2 "Performer" cars...
