Lost The Key To The Mustang Already

you could spend 15 grand on an fd with low mileage and the same on a mustang...
odds are, if driven the same, the mustang will outlast the fd by about 80-100,000 miles with the stock engine..
from what i have seen, most fd owners are due for a rebuild or new engine every 60-80,000 miles.. i know plenty of mustang owners that have gone well over 130-160,000.. myself being on of them.. a friend of mine had one with 140,000 miles and was running nos.. it still runs fine..
i just don't see how it can be called a pos, especially from rotary owners... some who dump half their income into keeping their engine running for another year...
the rx may use better leather, better brakes, tires, etc.. than a mustang, but which will run longer, and cheaper for a lesser price ?

you cant compare a mustang and an fd, and say the mustang is better. the fd is unreliable and probably more so than the stang but its a lot more car than the stang. the interior of the stang will start falling apart and acting stupid where the fd will hold up. also, everyone knows that a stock na v6 or 8 will be stronger than a stock tt 13b, its the nature of the beast. to sum it all up i wouldnt call the fd a pos bc it doesnt fall apart like the mustang. that and the fd is unique while there are 40 million mustangs on the rd.

yeah but you buy the fd knowing the the engine will break, and its a pretty high powered sports car. the mustang is supposed to be a sporty, reliable car but everything (not just the interior) on it breaks.
has anyone ever had an odometer stop working at 143,000 miles just for the heck of it?

now your just bashing the mustang..
the only piece of "interior" on my stang that needed replaced was the rewind button on the tape player.. i just bought a cd player.. everything on mine worked and looked relatively new.. power seats, windows, locks.. kid who has it now, hasn't had any problems, and he runs the **** out of it. even my seats/carpet/dash looked and remained new looking... just normal vaccuming and wipe downs...
it doesn't seem like you have any sound proof of the mustang being a piece of crap. it just sounds like you hate the car for personal reasons.
and if it was your gf's odometer that stopped working at 143,000 miles.. well, the car can't be that unreliable, or that much of a piece of crap to hold onto it for that long.

i am bashing the mustang bc its given nothing but trouble. i guess i just expect cars to be reliable unless its a rotary, i shouldnt expect all cars to go past 140k before they start crapping out.

It's a Honda, it's supposed to, run that is, 0-60 in nine minutes wOOt!
its given "you" nothing but trouble, but to a lot of other people, they are a good buy..
i just find it suprisingly funny how much people hate them, or call them a pos, when they don't have any real reason to hate them.

i do have real reason to hate them, but i agree that people who havent owned one or been around one a lot first hand shouldnt hate them.
after looking at the reviews for a 95 mustang i see that most owners dont have the problems my gf has had, i guess its an isolated case. the average rating for the 95 was 8.53 out of 10, which isnt so bad
