IBM All the way.

I work with laptops every day.

My work machine is a dell, just like everyone else's in the company and dell sucks giant donkey nuts.

We configure thousands of IBM's for Pfizer, and there is a reason they went with IBM.

The laptops are the ****. The T40 is awesome.

All my friends have Compaq's, Sony's, Toshiba's blah blah blah and i have to say that IBM is still the best

Dont pay big name prices and buy directly from the lappy manufacturers. Instead go here:

http://www.discountlaptops.com/

And look at the Sagers or Chem. Top of the line loaded laptops for under 2G with 17" screens, excellent vid cards, RAM, etc. Longer lasting Centrino's for less. You just dont get the big name support is all.

I have yet to have any trouble with 7 Sager lappy's in 3 years.

might as well get a tablet PC if you're gonna buy a laptop. Those things are sweet

I can't recomend one but I can talk smack about my old Toshiba. The battery life sucked. I followed the directions and conditioned the battery. I could not even watch one DVD with out the battery going dead.

Buy one from a retailer that has a liberal return policy. See if your fave games run and return the lappy if not.

Trust me on the Sager's. They used to build the Alienware laptops. You can get Desktop CPU versions or mobility versions with high end Ati GFX chipsets (the best for laptops right now). Just go check them out and compare to other high end laptops.
