OK. ******* hell.
I got into root, FINALLY.. .but it tells me I'm not connected to the internet? The ****, I see my DSL lights moving... lol
Scott - when I go and type /etc/rc.d/init.d/network start - it says not found.....
so um?

where are your init scripts located? Sounds like the NIC isn't started, you could jsut start the device, although if you are using GUI there should be a configuration tool.

I'd have to shut down this machine again, and put the cd back in to tell you. PITA.

but there's two keys to setting up any OS other then windows on a PC:
1) If you ever consider simply rebooting to be a "PITA" just stick to windows.
2) If you're lazy, stick to windows.

Didn't mean it like that - but because it is running off a cd - versus the one that is perm. installed on your computer is a PITA.. otherwise I love linux
