LOL..... yea I have a mandrake box here at work, I am more of a Red Hat guy, but Mandrake has got the desktop apps and install down.

The GIMP should do a pretty good job of replacing your Photoshop.

Not quite - "The GIMP" is the name of the program, an open source image editing program that is pretty powerful.



But you probably knew that. Didn't mean to give him an excuse!

So with Linux you can't perform your normal everyday operations? Is linux geared to run for ceratin applications only?

Mandrake is cool just make sure you can leave the mainstream behind and survive without it.



I have nothing against Linux other then it's still unix underneath and thus user hostile till you adjust, just remember that all the main apps are not for it and won't ever be for it.



That includes all the good games.
