Congratulations, the 2k MCSE is harder then the NT 4 MCSE. Maybe I'll update mine one of these days. . .

went with the MCDBA cert to keep my MCT and there are not quite as many of them. Damned MCSE mills!

A+ is a joke if you know anything. The test is harder then it was, but not by much. I did both tests in 20 min the first time and 15 the 2nd time I retook them to see what was new.

I need to get a degree much as I hate to say it, which to me takes to long and costs too much. Doubt it would be at all hard to do, I know most of the coding stuff they teach and then some. It's just the time.......

Of course as I'm not working

if you need some help with getting going in linux, you are in the right place, if there is something I can't answer, phins can, I deal with linux more as a desktop environment, where as, I believe phinsup deals with it as more of a server environment ( don't let anyone tell you that linux is not a good desktop OS, you just need to show it a little love, and it will love you back)

Yea although I am pretty much running Linux on all my boxes as a desktop, I primarily deal with Linux and Unix in a server environment..... I don't have any Win boxes at work, I have one win box and one dual boot here at home.

You're trying to tempt me arnt you?!

I need to get my Linux box back up, at this point I've lost most of what I knew due to lack of use plus I've never had time to dig into it too much.

I've used Linux as my desktop OS before but it can't be my main OS now or for the forseeable future....I work too much with Access and Visual Studio to be able to switch plus I'm fine with Windows honestly.

Still I like Linux and all.

Just so ya my progession OS wise was DOS, OS/2 then Windows NT I avoided Win 3.1 and 9x for as long as possible.

I miss OS/2

lol woot is an expression, and anyone can do VB :P

Well great then, correct me if i'm wrong but its my impression that Mandrak 9, the one i am getting, is more of a desktop linux then say redhat which is more a server linux, correct? I need to triple boot 98/xp/nix so i'm dloading partition magic. And i already decided to get fluxbox(i think thats it) for the enviorment, its kinda like KDE if i'm not mistaken. It's like 90% of the developers use linux so theres got to be a reason, and being as what i am going into i feel i need to know it.

As far as windows 2k over XP it depends what xp you have. If you run XP at the enterprise level then all that XP bullshit is gone. I happen to have it at the enterprise level, as does anyone who knows me cuz they all beg me for the copy heh, and i like it. I've run, as much as i hate to admit it, every single M$ operating system ever made, including the RC1 release of Windows .NET(it needs work, seriously), and i like XP.

If anyone wants to try RC1 and has a cable line to dload from let me know i'll post my beta tester id/pass.
