Lightweight batteries?

So lately I've been thinking (uh-oh!) what if instead of relocating my battery to one of the hatches behind the seat, I simply put a lightweight battery, like a Braille, in the stock location? Adds lightness without the added weight of a lengthy cable, not to mention the actual task of doing the relo.

Anybody have experience with lightweight batteries? Seems like a no-brainer to me. I don't drive the car that often, and almost never in the winter. I just don't want to have to buy a new one every year. Do they hold up?

I read that some people use lawn mower batteries for weight saving.

I had a 99 V6 Explorer that I once started with a lawn mower battery in an emergency and it started right up. I figure it should start a rotary no problem.

I had a diehard gold, if I left my parking lights on for a few hours it would die. Completely die, as in it could not be charged. Pissed me off, because I would accidentally hit my light switch with my knee with exiting my FC. After being stranded several times, and having to drive across town to our only Sears several times to replace it, I got an Optima red top instead. Never had a problem after that.

Though, eventually I just removed my headlight switch **** and kept it close by.

my gold used to sit the entire winter and go dead, jump it, drive the car and it was fine until the following winter, same went for my jeep- it would sit the entire summer and fire right up.

I heard from a few sources that Optima is now a different parent company and the batteries are not as good
