well, i test drove the titan, and i must say it's a wonderful vehicle. my impressions...

Pros:

1. solid, powerful drivetrain with gobs of torque everywhere and muscular poise. the steering feels right, and immediately after i started driving it i felt comfortable. the seats are comfortable, supportive, but not too plush or mushy (a good thing). the seats remind me of my mom's mazda 6, which has good seats.

2. all the ***** and buttons are in the right spot and everything is easy to access, although the column gear shifter is in the way of one of the vents. there is LOTS OF ROOM in this truck, with room for 6 people (although i drive the king / extended cab with suicide doors, and the back was a bit crammed). the rear seats fold up and have grocery bag hooks on the bottom of the seats! real inventive.

3. the blinkers are cool little *****, and they dont try to stick every button / feature on one stick (stupid GM with their all in one blinker, lights, wipers, cruise control). they have two switches on each side, and they only only like 4 inches long, which is good because my FC switches are like 2 inches, and i'm used to small sticks (shutup!).

4. the bed is the coolest ever. the spray on liner is top notch, and you get other features like the rail system, lit bed area, cargo bay behind the wheel well, 12V in the bed, and 4 cleats.

Cons:

1. The outside door handles are large and plastic and feel like they will break after a month of use -- YUCK! i hate plastic, i want aluminum.

2. some interior parts seem cheap with thin plastic parts.

Overall: the truck i priced cost $31000, and that included a base 4x4 king cab with the 170 degree rear swinging doors (why didnt a truck company think of this earlier? so cool, so inventive), the offroad package, the bed utility package, and a 350 watt 9 speaker rockford fosgate sound system with a subwoofer. the only engine is a 5.6L endurance v8 with the numbers listed above.

i tested a new ford f150 extended cab, and had to upgrade to the 5.4L triton v8 (less hp and torque than the titan) and add on the 4x4 option. that truck, with NO bed liner or rails, NO offroad package and NO locking differential, and NO sound system STARTED at $34000!!!!

i could get an equivalent titan for $4000 - $6000 cheaper than the ford!!! and the titan weighs less (200 lbs more than the tundra), has more towing capacity, is faster in performance, looks way better with more interior space, has more options and apeals to my generation, AND has japanese design qualities and build reliability. and it's built in the US, so it benifits our economy and provides us with jobs.

I WILL BUY THIS TRUCK WHEN I GET THE MONEY AFTER I START WORK! THE TITAN ROCKS. i might even become a tennessee titan fan because of this truck...not really. go cowboys.
