I have a book that i think your dad (or any of us) should read. Its "The Wankal Rotary Engine" by John B. Hege. It covers the history and development of the Rotary since its birth. Its talks about a research team that ran an development rotary at live 25,000 rmp. back in like the 60's. thats crazy right, imagine the engines now. The main thing that kills rotaries is detonation from a lean a/f mix.

10 years ago I had a auction RX-7 come into my shop that had a automatic with bad u-joints.

Needless to say the combo of it being female owned, a automatic, and

having bad u-joints, it was REALLY babied. The car would barely run!

When I had to clean the car I took it upon myself to do the Marvel oil thing and throw new plugs in it, the guy I was cleaning the car could not believe how the car ran afterwords ( he would often have me throw plugs, wires, fuel filters in cars to try to get them to run better for the auctions ), till this day I have never seen a car that ran so terrible, then so incredibly great with just a new set of plugs and some Marvel oil. Even the engine bay came out so incredibly clean, I should post a pic of it, without a doubt the cleanest N/A bay I have seen to this day!
