It's so amazing to think that the RIAA can sue an individual. If you all are so inclined, check out 2600. They strongly promote the destruction of the DMCA and the Patriot Act. They are in no means anti-America at all. If you haven't heard about these laws, check them out, you'll be amazed at how they were ever signed into law.

RIAA needs to look at say metallica. they went up against napster sure they won the battle, but look at them now, they definitely lost the war.



If they try to sue me I swear i'll have their *****. They use their size to try to influence a decision and hope a bargain is made so they dont have to go to court and have the judge say what they did is the same as searching a house without a search warrant.



The thing with Kazaa that i think right now the RIAA is using as a loophole is that when you signup and agree to Kazaa you agree to something on the lines of "I agree that the files i choose may be made public and shared with other users" or something to that degree, which sort of gives the RIAA the ability, due to your acceptance of that contract, to look through the files on your computer.



I would imagine a quick work-around is the disabling of sharing your folders which have your "illegal" material in them. That way if you download a file form them and they track you, all you have to do theoretically is ask who gave them permission to look in a private, unshared folder.



Of course it's completely hypothetical but that is the line of defense i would stick with, invasion of privacy and unlawful searching of others properties.

I heard kazaa has a huge virus with it to..Anyone else hear about that?

 

I got a virus from kazaa...the ******* thing changed all my sec. settings..so now I can't see any web pages...the security setting is to low....and it created a password for it too... I'm too lazy to reformat my home pc..so I just use my work computer now.

well ****, just about every program i have installed on my computer came from imesh. Im talkin 100$ **** like photoshop and Office pro and hacks and all that stuff.



Well my HD crased a while back, so i lost my 35 gigs of music and 20 gigs of movies and porno. Now whenever i d/l something i just move it out of the folder. Keeps people from uploading from me anyways.

The Freenet project has been around for a while now. It uses a system of encrypted nodes (takes a little bit of hard drive space, however much you want to give it) sending encrypted data to each other, without any way of knowing which node is the final destination for the data being transferred through it.



It's easiest to get and put files with another program, Frost, but it's pretty ****ing secure.
