I'm in Cary, near Raleigh. My club is THSCC (Tar Heel Sports Car Club). We do an autocross about once a month, and usually several track events through out the year at places like VIR, CMP and Roebling Road.

You got a running, driving FC for less than 600 bux . . . it won't be sorted out. But good job and have some patience with it; it should be a great platform for autocrossing.

my mom just sold her (my old) 86 NA auto for $500 to a neighbor. runs well, few idle problems. also has a cold, working AC.

Oh ok, cool. I live like an hour from Raleigh. I think I've heard of that club before.. well, at least it sounds familiar.
