Is It Just Me Or Are Most Fcs Just Plain Slow?

Jim- Yes I know they are not made for straight lines, and its not all I use my rx7 for, or else I would have the rear tubbed out and ford rearend installed But sheer acceleration is just bliss for me.. I was really drunk when I posted this and I was trying to get at the fact that not that many people make much power. Yet all the guys in here from Japan are atleast in the 10s if they had a 1/4mile track on Oki..

Nope just tired of people knocking the car.
I am heading out to a Driving School again in 2 weeks. I will be driving my TII this time. Say all you want about straight line acceleration. ANYONE can go fast in a straight line. To take turns in these cars is to love them. When I go to school in 2 weeks be assured people w/ high end cars will be scratching their heads wondering WTF is going on. When my $3500 blue book car is creaming their 60K "race cars"
I drove Mazdadrifters GXL Sunday after the driving school was over and we were taking fun runs. His GXL N/A was by and far the most fun to toss around there. I was drifitng it around all the turns or driving grip whichever I wanted to do. The car went where you wanted it to go. After driving my Mini a Z-06 and a sick modded Miata that FC was by far the beast handling car out there.
Keep goign in a straight line w/ you RX-7's - Your missing out on some of the best fun you'll ever have with them.

yeah our half assed its car runs a 2:05 lap at thunderhill, where "fast" cars are in the 2:10-2:15 second range, and the thing gets driven by everyone and their brother, and doesnt break
Unfortunatly most people just glaze over when you state lap times at tracks. The only thing that computes to them is 1/4 mile times.
If you want to go fast in a straight line go buy a Camaro and do it Joe Dirt style.
Its amazing that RX-7's are as competative in 1/4 mile as they are. They were built to be sports cars not 1/4 mile racers. But you said you didnt want to hear that.
My only suggestion to you is if you dont like how "slow" the RX-7's are, sell it and get yourself a Big Block monster and have at it.
